ProCam welcomes trainee agronomist to its Driffield team5 July 2022

Leading agronomy firm ProCam has appointed Josh Baker to its Driffield-based team of BCS Agriculture agronomists.

Josh, who joins BCS Agriculture as a trainee agronomist, hails from a farming family and is an agri-business graduate from Harper Adams University. During his studies he held placements in both the arable and livestock sectors having spent 15 months working for Hampshire-based grain merchants, Robin Appel Ltd., and more recently working on an upland sheep farm and for a straw merchant and agricultural contractor in Yorkshire.

After graduating from university, Josh spent a summer working for Dyson Farming in Lincolnshire before joining a Yorkshire farming business where he helped to lift potatoes and carried out general farm work. He has also held positions as a seed processing operative for A.F. Monk (Rookley) Ltd. in Hampshire and has spent the last 12 months working as a grain buyer for Cefetra Ltd.

Josh joins BCS Agriculture at its base on the Kelleythorpe Industrial Estate in Little Driffield from where he will continue his training as an agronomist working with growers throughout North and East Yorkshire.

“We’re delighted to welcome Josh to the team and look forward to helping him to progress his agronomy career,” explains Diane Heath, ProCam’s UK Managing Director. “He joins us at what is certainly a challenging time for everyone involved in food production: with rising fuel and fertiliser costs putting significant pressure on farm margins, providing practical, innovative and effective crop protection advice is more important than ever. As such we are investing in our agronomy teams throughout the UK to ensure we are appropriately resourced to continue to provide a class-leading service to our farming customers.”
